What is the Chof app?
Chof is a free chocolate scanner app for iOS and Android. Scan any bar and Chof explains its cocoa percentage, ingredients, origin, maker and flavour notes, plus a Chof Score that rates the bar on visible product signals like the ingredient list and origin transparency. Think Vivino for chocolate, built for people who want to buy, taste, rate and remember better bars.
Is Chof free?
Yes. Chof is free to download on iOS and Android, and you can scan without creating an account. The free tier has a daily scan allowance; a free account raises it and saves the bars you rate across devices, and Chof Premium removes it. Chof does not sell chocolate, so nothing you scan is an advert.

“I have been waiting for someone to do this. The app really looks great.”

“I love the idea for the app and have always wanted an elegant way of tracking the bars that I try.”
“The app is fantastic!”

Why I built Chof
Felipe
Most people pick a chocolate bar with almost no information to go on. The chocolate itself has moved on: growers around the world ferment and dry their beans with real care, and craft makers buy directly from them, roast in small batches and let the origin come through. Finding those bars is still as hard as it ever was.
Wine has Vivino. Coffee has roast dates, origin labels and a shared tasting vocabulary. Chocolate has none of that. Most people end up reaching for cocoa percentage, packaging, brand name, maybe an award or certification, and hoping for the best.
Through tastings, workshops and conversations, the same pattern keeps coming back: people want better chocolate but do not feel confident reading what is in front of them. The more interesting the chocolate gets, the harder it is to choose.
Chof is a simple way to scan a bar, understand what is in your hand, and discover better bars and the makers behind them. I am an IICCT Level 2 certified chocolate taster, and I built Chof so finding good chocolate stops being a guess.
